Színes programmal készültek idén is Öskün a Márton-napi hagyományok felelevenítése kapcsán. November 11-én, szombaton. Kora délután már zsongott az Ösküi Művelődési Ház előtti tér. A kicsik és nagyok birtokba vették a Fanyüvők népi játszóház által felsorakoztatott népi játékokat. A kihelyezett asztaloknál lázasan folyt a munka, lámpás készült az esti gyertyafényes felvonuláshoz, libás kreatívságokat fúrtak-faragtak a gyerkőcök és lelkes szüleik, nagyszüleik. A hangszórókból fülbemászó népzene csengett. A terület közepén a helyi Gyöngyszemek Gyermek Néptánccsoport ropta a táncot, gyönyörű népviseleti ruhákban. Akinek kedve volt, még Ludas Matyiként is lefotóztathatta magát, a kézzel festett tábla "takarásában". A fázósaknak rendelkezésre állt két melegedő a téren, az állandó felügyelet melletti, hordozható tűzrakóhely mellett. Hangulatos volt látni, amikor körbeállták az emberek és békésen, nevetgélve beszélgettek, miközben kezeiket tartották a melengető lángok felé. A helyi asszonyok segítségével, akik a tésztát gyúrták és nyújtották, mindenki süthetett magának kürtös kalácsot. Bükkből készült, nyeles fahengerre tekerték és a parázs felett ropogósra pirították a tésztát a finomságra vágyók. Nem maradhatott el a forró tea, a lágy kenyérből kent zsíros kenyér és hozzá ösküi hagyma. A felnőttek örömére zamatos forralt bor gőzölgött a fazekakban. Mindezt a helyi Napsugár Óvoda szülői munkaközössége biztosította, mint ahogy a Márton napi vásárt a Tasner Antal Általános Iskola tanárai, diákjai és azoknak szülei. Találhattunk a portékák között, otthon feleslegessé vált dolgokat, saját kezűleg készített jóságokat. Finom házi süteményekkel, zsákbamacskákkal a cserfes kisdiákok jártak körbe az emberek között. A befolyt összeget az osztálypénzbe csoportosították. 17:00 óra, a Művelődési Ház takarosan berendezett terme fogadott bennünket, ami otthont adott Csizmadia Sándor fotó kiállításának. Ángyán Tamás, a település polgármestere mondott a megnyitón elgondolkodtató beszédet a fotózásról, pillanatok megörökítéséről, a fotós által átadott emberi érzésekről. Megemlékezés következett Halmágyi Zoltán plébános előadásában, amikor Szent Mártonról hallhatott a népes közönség. Az Öskü Község Kertbarátok Egyesülete nevében, Harnos László alpolgármester aki az egyesület elnöke is egyben, mondott köszöntőt és az általuk készített borokat útjára bocsájtotta a szenteléshez, áldáshoz. Halmágyi Zoltán plébános és Hamza Kinga Dalma lelkésznőnek jutott eme nemes feladat. A programban közreműködött a Vadgesztenye Népdalkör, Forrás Népdalkör és Hajnal Citera Együttes. 18,00 óra, elindultak a felvonuló csoportok. A falu apraja-nagyja, lámpással a kezében egy lovas vezetésével körbe járta a teret. A lámpás felvonulás után egy tányér ludaskására vártak az önkormányzati dolgozók mindenkit, vacsora közben pedig a Ludas Matyi című rajzfilm vetítése vonzotta a kivetítő elé az embereket. (A ludaskása összetétele a következő volt: Liba hús zöldségekkel raguként főzve, a végén belekerült a rizs és isteni finom kásává alakult.) 20:00 órától, a MÁRTON NAPI BÁL koronázta meg a napot. A talp alá valót Szőke Zoltán SUDRI szolgáltatta, mindenki legnagyobb megelégedésére. Hajnalig mulatozott Öskü népe, remekül kigőzölték a mindennapok fáradalmait.
